One thing we often miss when treating prolapse is a functional/standing assessment.
If an orthopedic patient came in complaining of pain with walking and running, would we do our entire examination with them sitting or laying down?
Absolutely not!
And yet, isn't that exactly what we're doing for our patients with prolapse if we aren't doing a standing assessment?

It's entirely possible a patient with prolapse will never be evaluated - by their OB or their pelvic rehab provider - in the position where they experience their symptoms.
In this 'sode we talk about the importance of a standing assessment, reasons you might be (justifiably!) hesitant about performing one, and how to implement for your patients. Are you routinely doing standing assessments? Or is there something holding you back? Reach out and let us know!
"A Missing Piece" Series
In this series, we're taking a single aspect of a condition or symptom we feel is often overlooked, dismissed or 'just checked'. If you're already doing this consistently, then great! If you're doing it periodically, it might be something to prioritize higher. And if you're not doing it at all, it's another tool in your toolbox.
